overall training standards. All USA Emergency Response Training follows the suggested core criteria set
forth in OHSA’s 29CFR 1910.120 Appendix E, NFPA 472, “Training Curriculum Guidelines.”
In addition, all USA Safety and Emergency Response Training complies with OSHA’s permit-required confined space standard (29 CFR 1910.146) OSHA Fire Protection 1910.157

Directive 5 (HSPD-5), Management of Domestic Incidents, which mandates a “single, comprehensive

Designed for individuals who respond to the release of hazardous substances in order to aggressively
stop the release. Required for any one who must enter a “hot zone.”
WASTE SITE WORKER TECHNICIAN - 40 hours, $795 per student
LOCATION: All seminars and workshops will be held at the University of South Alabama
Springhill Ave Campus. A map and directions to the location will be included with your registration
confirmation.
Course Dates: By Request
Ideal training for workers who regularly participate in activities conducted on hazardous waste
sites and may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
MEALS: Lunch will be provided for all courses conducted through the Safety and Emergency
HAZWOPER ANNUAL REFRESHER - 8 hours, $175 per student
Response Training site. Refreshments will also be provided.
TAX DEDUCTION: An income tax deduction is normally allowed for expenses related to
Continuing Education.
REFUNDS: For a full refund, only written cancellations postmarked 10 days prior to the course
start date can be accepted. We cannot make refunds after that date. Substitutions can be made at any
time. Registrants who do not attend the course and who have not complied with this policy are responsible for the full registration fee. In the event a course is cancelled for any reason, the USA Center for
Continuing Education will provide a full refund of registration fees.

Serves as an annual refresher for those who have completed Hazardous Materials Technician
training. Refreshers are available with either a classroom or a drill option.
INCIDENT COMMAND - 8 hours, $175 per student
Course Dates: By Request
Prepares those who are responsible for implementing an employer’s incident command system
and emergency response plan. Course also covers working with chemical protective clothing and
the importance of decontamination procedures.

OSHA General Industry Training
Fire Extinguisher & Fire Watch
GENERAL INDUSTRY SAFETY
OSHA 10 Hour: $195 per student
Course Dates: By Request
The 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Program is intended to provide entry level workers with
general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a job site. OSHA recommends
training program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered
by OSHA 29CFR1910.
OSHA 30 Hour: $495 per student

The 30 Hour General Industry Outreach Program is a comprehensive safety program designed
for anyone involved in but not limited to Health Care, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Distribution
and Retail. OSHA recommends training programs as an orientation to occupational safety and
health for workers covered by OSHA 29CFR1910.
CONFINED SPACE ENTRY - 8 hours, $175 per student
Course Dates: By Request
Designed to provide employees who must enter into, work in or exit from confined spaces with
the awareness of the increased risks of exposure to physical injury from hazards such as entrapment, engulfment and hazardous atmospheric conditions. Students will master the skills necessary to minimize these risks.

This program covers the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157 standard "Portable Fire Extinguishers." Topic
areas will included: Fire Behavior, Fire Stages, Fire Classes, Extinguisher Types, and extinguishment.
Following the classroom session, students will take part in a practical evolution. Students will be
shown and allowed to extinguish real fires..

This course is designed to provide training for individuals currently serving as firewatch, holewatch or safety attendant, as well as for learners interested in obtaining these skills for the first
time. Areas to be covered include where hot work is and is not permitted, the safety precautions
needed to prepare an area for hot work, the roles and responsibilities or a fire watcher, responsibilities
of others involved with hot work, and what emergency procedures need to be in place for hot work.
FIRST RESPONDER AWARENESS COURSE - 8 hours
Course Dates: By Request
For individuals who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and who will
initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities.
FIRST RESPONDER OPERATIONS COURSE - 16 hours
Course Dates: By Request
For those who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of the initial response to the site for the purposes of protecting nearby persons, property or the environment from the effects of the release.
