The position requires the ability to assess the risk of the children in households being investigated for abuse, neglect or dependency. Court involvement may become necessary and removal of the children from their home is sometimes necessary. Working with multiple community agencies is an important part of the job. Providing ongoing Treatment Services to families in which Child Abuse, Neglect, or Dependency reports have been substantiated. These children and their families are in need of services that may include family preservation and/or foster care service. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Recruitment Standards and Special Conditions: Knowledge and understanding of advanced social work assessment techniques. Considerable knowledge of legal and administrative aspects of programs. Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi disciplinary team. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with members of caseload and their families as well as civic, legal, medical, social, and religious organizations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to plan and execute work effectively. Public speaking ability. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative(Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master’s degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
