The City University of New York Library Committee Minutes April 4, 2005 Members Present: Rob Becker, English; Jose Osorio, Foreign Languages; Matthew Trachman, Social Sciences, Committee Chairperson; Dr. K. Kim, Chief Librarian, ex­officio. The meeting was called to order at 1:45 PM. 1. The minutes of the meeting of March 16, 2005 were approved. 2. The Committee reflected on the discussion with Vice President McCollogh of March 16, 2005. In deliberating upon possible actions to take, it was decided to raise the consciousness of the College community as to the state of the Library and to enlist the aid of the Academic Senate in presenting an informative action. 3. The Committee worked on a draft of a document to be presented to the Academic Senate. Among the possible items to be included in this report were: space, renovations, and expansion; security; staffing; environment; and print and electronic collections. 4. Committee members agreed to continue work on the document via email. Prof. Trachman offered to contact Prof. Ken Pearl, the recording secretary of the Academic Senate, to review protocols for submission of the document. 5. The Committee set its next meeting for April 13, 2005. The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 PM. Respectfully submitted, Rob Becker
