Chair, Orthopaedic Surgery The University of South Alabama (USA) College of Medicine seeks nominations and applications for the position of Chair, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The successful applicant will oversee and provide leadership for all academic and clinical activities for the department and will work collaboratively with other clinical disciplines to help advance the USA Health Care System. Components of the Health System include the USA Medical Center, USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, USA Physicians and Clinics, and the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute. The Department has an outstanding record of residency training and successful collaborative relationships with community orthopaedic practices, including The Orthopaedic Group (TOG), Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic (AOC), and the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, located in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Candidates should have a national reputation for excellence in scholarship, teaching and clinical service. Other requirements are proven leadership skills in an academic environment, board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery, and eligibility for medical licensure in Alabama.
