Trends in Hotline Calls at Western Illinois University

The purpose of this research is to examine how frequencies, caller characteristics, and call topics have
changed.
Procedure: Hotline call logs from 1994, 2004, and 2013 were reviewed. Callers were classified as male,
female, or undetermined. Topics were classified as suicide, drugs and alcohol, information, just to talk,
sex, relationship problems, hang ups, and other problems.
