Occupational Risks in Healthcare

Our topic for the Undergraduate Research Panel is a comparison between all of the different types of
occupational risks for healthcare professionals. This topic is significant because we are getting our
Bachelor’s degree in hopes of becoming healthcare professionals ourselves. It is important to know what
types of occupational risks are out there. We will discuss occupations in healthcare, such as nursing,
physicians, rehabilitation, medical professionals, and long-term care. We will then compare themdeciphering if they are acute or chronic. We will continue to discuss whether or not different risks are
preventative and what exactly we can do to prevent these hazards. All health risks and hazards are crucial
to learn about, because knowing the prevention of these occupations can help reduce the amount of
occupational injuries we see in the workplace every year.
