QUALIFICATIONS 1. Graduation from a two year accredited college or university with a degree in electronics or related field, or a comparable amount of training from an accredited technical school, service school or manufacturers school. 2. Field experience in installation, maintenance and repair of microcomputers, printers, terminals, word processors and communications equipment. 3. Be knowledgeable in the use of test equipment, tools and new technical developments needed to maintain and service all communication and computer related equipment for the District. 4. Working knowledge of Local Area Networks. 5. Working knowledge of wiring the Wide Area and Local Area Networks. 6. Working knowledge of voice/data wiring required to connect entire building into patch panel designs. 7. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. 8. Is physically capable of performing duties as determined by physical examination by Board approved physician. 9. Ability to perform essential functions of the position. ____________________________________________________________________________ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *1. To provide assistance to all school and department personnel in resolving equipment problems in order to maintain appropriate technology programs. *2. To process district-wide requests for microcomputer and associated peripheral repairs. *3. To provide assistance to all school and department personnel in proper use and selfmaintenance of equipment. *4. To maintain microcomputers, computer terminals, and computer peripheral devices as needed. *5. To serve as backup Computer Operator to include a rotation schedule when required. *6. To process paperwork for e-rate grant requests and to monitor use of grant funds ass related to networking equipment and infra-structure. *8. To coordinate with vendor request for repair or cabling that cannot be completed with SLCSB staff. *9. To attend vendor education classes to remain current on equipment repair and wiring techniques. 10. To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. 11.
