Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, architecture, building construction, or related field. Licensure preferred. 2. A minimum of three (3) years experience and course work in facilities planning, construction and contract management preferred. 3. Expertise in HVAC and roofing system desired. 4. Knowledge of Florida law related to school facilities and construction contracting. 5. Contractor certification desired. 6. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position. ____________________________________________________________________________________ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *1. Administers performance of construction contracts, coordinates and supervises the efforts of architects and contractors to ensure attainment of specified quality standards. *2. Assures that all construction projects are according to SBE regulations and Florida Statutes. *3. Assumes responsibility for supervision and evaluation of all persons assigned to the division. 4. Assumes budgetary control for the division. 5. Coordinates with State Department of Education personnel to obtain consultant services, surveys and inspections as required for the benefit of the school district. *6. Works with appropriate personnel in the planning, modification and construction of school facilities. 7. Assists in the acquisition and disposition of real property. *8. Develops and recommends both annual and specific capital outlay project budgets. 9. Coordinates and manages the development of long-range facility needs and site selection as directed by the Superintendent. 10. Directs the development of recommendations for facility acquisition and/or use taking into consideration recommendations of school plant surveys. *11. Provides quality assurance of environmental conditions of all facilities. 12. Plans and coordinates the acquisition and placement of portable buildings which are structurally and environmentally sound and designed for the purpose for which they are being used. Prepares or supervises the preparation of all required reports and the maintenance of all appropriate records. 15.
