Expected Outcomes The West Virginia (SPI) is professional learning that educators can use in pursuit of three, specific and related outcomes: (1) Deeper knowledge and understandings relevant to successful implementation of the Next Generation Content Standards and Objectives; (2) Belief in the value and power of evidence-based instructional practices; and (3) Increased quantity and quality of implementation of these practices in classrooms across West Virginia. As educators update their knowledge and deepen their understanding of the essential components of SPI, the expectation is that they will refresh and revise their instructional practice because they know their students need this to happen, because they understand that it is possible, and because they have a stronger sense of how to do it.
