PS9020 – Leave Type Table Required table for the Leave Accounting module. Maintained by SBCTC-ITD and colleges. Use this screen to view and change attributes for the types of leave available to employees. Leave types that do not require accrued leave balances (for example, bereavement and military leave) can be established so that leave taken transactions can be entered and leave taken balances can be maintained on the Leave Posting Screen (PS1019). Use the Leave Type Table to identify the following attributes for a leave type: • • • To identify which leave transaction code to use for docking leave (the Leave Dock field) when a leave balance is insufficient for the amount of leave taken. To indicate whether leave records are to be be maintained by the day or month (the Leave By Day field). To indicate whether the balance adjustment for a leave transaction should be set to a maximum, is an overlay balance, or does not have a maximum balance (the Balance adjustment Leave Transaction field). The protected functions on this screen are A (Add) and D (Delete). To add or delete leave type codes, complete the appropriate request form. To see a sample request form, refer to Appendix D of the PPMS Control Tables manual. Length 20 characters Leave Balance Indicator (LEAVE-BAL-IND) Definition Entry required. A code indicating whether a leave balance is maintained for the leave type and, if maintained the type of balance. Length 1 character Values Defined by SBCTC-ITD as follows: A N O Accumulated leave balance Leave balance is not maintained Overlaid leave balance Leave Dock (LEAVE-DOCK) Definition A code defined by the system identifying the leave transaction code to which hours should be transferred if a leave type has an insufficient balance to be processed. Length 3 characters Edits The leave transaction code being used as the leave dock code must be on the Leave Transaction Table (PS9025). The leave dock transaction code must have a leave transaction category of T (taken) on the Leave Transaction Table (PS9025). If the Leave Balance Indicator is N (no balance required), a value should not be entered in the Leave Dock field. 2 Leave By Day (LEAVE-BY-DAY) Definition Entry required. A code indicating whether leave taken records are maintained by day. Length 1 character Values Defined by SBCTC-ITD as follows: N Y No, do not maintain leave records by day Yes, maintain leave records by day Balance Adjustment Leave Transaction (BAL-ADJ-TRNS) Definition A code identifying the leave transaction code to use when a leave type balance requires an automatic adjustment. Length 3 characters Values Defined by SBCTC-ITD as follows: Edits 3 blank No balance adjustment to leave MAX Reset balance to maximum in leave maximum month PHL APA PRO Replace leave balance on the accrual month indicated on the Leave Accrual Table (PS9009). If the Leave Balance Indicator entry is O (overlay), a value must be entered in the Balance Adjustment Leave Transaction field.
