Introduction/Engagement Activity:
Bell Ringer: What are fossils fuels and what other forms of energy are available?
Active Participation/Group Presentations:
 Break into groups to review the rubric for peer/self assessment

Group 1 Presentation: Fossil Fuels in our Everyday Life

Group 2 Presentation: Dams

Group 3 Presentation: Windmills

Group 4 Presentation: Hydroelectricity

Students go to Think.com to participate in a vote and/or debate regarding the
alternative resources available.

Whole Group: Sing If We Don’t Fix It.
Evaluation:
Content knowledge, Presentation Skills (e.g. Listening, Speaking, and Viewing), and
Active Participation are assessed.
