In the last assignment, you identified reasons for the recent accounting
misstatements/fraud in companies.
In this assignment, identify two concrete measures that can be taken to prevent such
misstatements/fraud. Avoid the most obvious, such as increased penalties, more jail
time and increased fines. Also avoid rehashing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Describe the
measures and also assess their effectiveness. . . .Will they work? To what extent? Do they
have any disadvantages? Equal weight will be given to the description of the measures
and the analysis of their effectiveness.
The paper should be 1-page long (no more, no less), double-spaced; use a 12-pitch font,
and 1" margin on all 4 sides; include your name and section in the header.
