Biography Michael McCoy, CPA is a Manager of Fiscal Integrity at the New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller Medicaid Fraud Division. Mike is charged with supervising the office's audit, data mining, third party liability and recovery units and leads the effort in New Jersey to ensure the economic stability of the Medicaid program by directing programs to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse. Over the course of his twenty seven year career he has held positions of increasing responsibility starting as a staff auditor and working his way up to a Vice President of Accounting for an insurance claims management service before starting his most recent position at the state. Mike has worked for some of the largest health insurers in tri-state area, and has dedicated most of his career to stopping insurance fraud. Throughout his career he has been recognized for his dedication to fighting healthcare fraud. Mike has a BS in Accounting from Drexel University and is Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania. He has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in auditing and fraud detection and frequently lectures on the topic of healthcare fraud prevention and detection.
