All industry sectors from retail to manufacturing regularly face the challenge of recruiting, selecting, onboarding, developing and maximizing talent. More and more, sectors are reporting significant challenges in recruiting and keeping good talent. This presents complications for both business performance as well as future leadership and seems to be reaching a critial point.

Whether caused by rapid advances in technology and skills, changing workplace perceptions of millenials, or pending retirement of the "boomer" generation, businesses are facing a new and complicated set of dynamics.

Professor Anthony J. Rucci ( Fisher College of Business, The Ohio

State University ) , J ames E. Donohue (Aon Hewitt ) and Yvonne

Kalucis ( MXD Group) collaborate to provide insights into understanding the changing, complex alignment of talent management to general business strategy. Overall, the session will emphasize how to proactively use risk management to balance the risks related to talent management in order to meet business goals and enhance business performance.

BIOGRAPHIES OF SESSION LEADERS PROGRAM AT A GLANCE

Anthony J. Rucci, Clinical Professor of Management & Human Resources

The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business

Dr. Rucci joined Fisher in 2006 following a 28 year career as an executive officer with three Fortune 100 companies. He has held a broad range of senior officer responsibilities, including extensive board of directors and governance experience, merger and acquisition responsibilities, large scale organizational transformation efforts, as well as international responsibilities.

Dr. Rucci has been Dean of the College of Business and tenured professor at the

University of Illinois, Chicago and has also taught at Bowling Green State University, and the University of Texas, Dallas. He has published over twenty-five articles and book chapters, and hold holds bachelors, masters and PhD degrees in industrial and organizational psychology from Bowling Green State University.

James E. Donohue, Partner, Talent and Organization Consulting Practice,

Aon Hewitt

Mr. Donohue has 20 years of consulting experience in all aspects of organization and workforce strategies and design, mergers and acquisitions, leadership, and employee engagement. He also serves as North American Leader for Aon Hewitt’s

Leadership Consulting Practice. Prior to joining Aon Hewitt, Jim was a senior manager at a global management consulting firm where he focused on organization design, talent management, and HR technology.

Jim earned a B.A. in economics and religion from St. Olaf College and an M.M.

(M.B.A.) degree from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at

Northwestern University.

Jim has served as a guest lecturer numerous times at the

University of Minnesota’s Carlson School and University of Pennsylvania’s

Wharton School and is a frequent speaker to local and national organizations.

Yvonne Kalucis , Vice President , Human Resources

MXD Group

Ms. Kalucis has over 20 years of human resources experience. Yvonne earned her B.S in Retail Merchandising from The Ohio State University and a J.D. from Cleveland-

Marshall College of Law. Upon graduating and passing the Ohio Bar, Kalucis worked for Revco' human resources department, after which she joined L Brands, where she worked for 11 years, honing her skills in strategic planning, organizational development, recruitment, change management, training and development, succession planning, and performance management. Kalucis served as Sr VP of

Human Resources at RG Barry Brands. Kalucis worked closely with the senior leadership team to develop a winning corporate culture and optimum efficiency of operations for which RG Barry was recognized a record three times in a row by

Columbus CEO Magazine as “One of the Best Places to Work in Columbus”.

Yvonne joined MXD Group as VP, Human Resources in August 2015. Yvonne’s top three goals for the organization include promoting a “best in class” company culture; realigning hiring managers’ objectives with candidates’ growth potential, and elevating programs for performance management.

Isil Erel , Professor of Finance, Academic Director of T he Risk Institute at

T he Ohio State University Fisher College of Business

Dr. Isil Erel holds a Ph.D. in financial economics from MIT Sloan School of

Management. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business administration from Koç University, Turkey. Her research spans a variety of areas within corporate finance, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and banking. Her r esearch has been published in leading academic sources and she is the 2010 recipient of the Pace Setters Faculty Research

Award and the 2015 recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award at Fisher College of Business. She also received the Distinguished Referee Award from the Review of

Financial Studies in 2012. She has been a Fisher Research Fellow (since 2011) and a

National Center for the Middle Market Research Fellow (since 2012). In addition to assuming her role as academic director of The Risk Institute, Dr. Erel will continue to conduct high-impact research in her fields of interest and teach Financial

Institutions in both MBA and undergraduate programs at Fisher .

Philip S. Renaud, MS, CPCU, Executive Director of The Risk Institute at

The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business

Renaud joins The Risk Institute from Risk International, where he served as a managing director and led the Columbus offices. With over 25 years of experience creating and managing several large multilocation, international risk management departments, he brings extensive expertise in the practice of risk management, direct insurance, and safety and health. In addition to his position at Risk

International, Renaud managed risk programs at Deutsche Post/DHL (Supply Chain),

Kmart Corporation, Limited Brands, Inc. (L Brands) and, prior to that, SCOA

Industries Inc. (Shoe Corporations of America). He is a regular speaker at various national, regional and local risk management forums. He also serves on the Board of

Directors for the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky, Middle and Eastern

Tennessee and board chairman for Central Ohio.
