1) Call to order: President, Abby Ray called the meeting to order at 6:00 on Monday
2) Approval of minutes: Minutes were approved from February 11, 2013
3) Guest Speaker: Tori from the MDA Summer Camp
4) Officer reports
a) Vice President: Texas Roadhouse fundraiser 10% will be given to us for those
who come to Texas Roadhouse with a flier. Date to be announced (end of March)
b) President: BSNA won the recognition of most increased membership in the state!
We are also in the running for most increased membership for nationals!
5) Special committees reports:
a) Social Committee: Free Craft night. Bring ceramic item and decorate with
scrapbook paper, magazine paper, with mod podge.
b) Mentor Committee: Working on details of mock interview
c) Fundraising Committee: Abby Candles Fundraising forms handed out. Please
come get them from CN418 and raise us some money! They are due at our next
meeting March 18th. Checks are made out to BSNA. Prize is awarded for the
person who sells the most candles.
d) NOMCOM: Fliers passed out to apply to be an officer. Those are due March 18th.
e) Community Service Committee: Every Wednesday (not this Wednesday the
27th) to ARF 3-5pm
6) Unfinished business:
a) Ty Williams- Brief report on the goodness that is the IANS State Convention
b) Confirmed IANS officers elected Saturday
i) Bri Duesser- IANS President 2013-2014
ii) Ty Williams- Membership Director
iii) Taylor Bard- Newsletter Editor
iv) Taylor Smith- Rules and Bylaws Director (to be confirmed)
v) Maggie Stemnock- Community Service and Disaster Preparedness (to be
confirmed)
vi) Doc Hunter- IANS Advisor
c) Voting
i) We will be voting on our delegates to nationals.
ii) You are voting to approve our representative to vote at the conference.
iii) Motion was made and approved to send these delegates to nationals
7) New business:
a) The rules committee has made an amendment to our bylaws.

ii) Voting next meeting!
8) Next meeting: Next meeting will be held March 18th, 2013 Monday 6pm (NOT the
Monday we are back from Spring Break)
9) Announcements:
a) Those going to the national convention must register and pay for the registration
fee by the end of Spring Break.
b) Selling T-Shirts.
10) Adjournment: President adjourned meeting at 6:45.

Advisor Appointment Amendment
Summary: An amendment to specify the process by which Advisors to the Ball State
Student Nurse Association named.
FOR THE PURPOSE OF establishing a process by which Advisor to the BSNA are
appointed; and
FOR THE PURPOSE OF providing the BSNA membership a voice in the selection of its
advisors; and
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ensuring that existing language concerning Advisors is
consistent with these amendments; and
FOR THE PURPOSE OF setting forth the number and role of BSNA Advisors.
BY AMENDING THE BSNA BYLAWS AS FOLLOWS, DELETIONS
UNDERLINED AND ADDITIONS IN ITALICS.
ARTICLE VI: ELECTIONS OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Section 5:
In the event that the BSNA President seeks re-election, the election of the new BSNA
President shall be presided over by the a BSNA faculty advisor.
ARTICLE VIII: STANDING COMMITTEES
Section 6: Nominations Committee
A. The BSNA Faculty Advisory Advisors shall serve as an ex officio, non-voting
members of the Nominations Committee.
ARTICLE X: AMENDMENTS ADVISORS
Section 1: Number and Term

The BSNA shall maintain at all times no fewer than two (2), and no more than
four (4) Advisors at all times.
Advisors shall serve a term of two years, such terms to be renewed at the
discretion of the BSNA membership.
Section 2: Appointment and Confirmation of Advisors
A.
The Board of Directors shall appoint a slate of Advisors for the consideration of
the full BSNA membership.
B. Advisors shall be confirmed by the full BSNA membership by a plurality vote of
the members present and entitled to vote.

A vote to confirm Advisor appointees shall be held each April at a regular
monthly business meeting of the full BSNA membership.
2.
Should an advisor resign before the conclusion of his/her term, the
Executive Board may put forward replacement appointment(s) for
confirmation at a regular monthly business meeting of the full BSNA
membership.
