Summer
Pre-College
PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT
When Jamie spent two
weeks of her summer
at Marist’s campus in
New York, she lived in
a dorm, took a class in
Fashion Design, and
visited New York City
to meet with industry
professionals. But
Jamie is, in fact, not a
college student; Jamie
attended the Summer
Pre-College program
before she even began
her senior year of high
school.
Expand your academic and creative aspirations! Marist’s Summer Pre-College
is a summer academic program exclusively for rising juniors and seniors in high
school. During your time here, you’ll learn from experienced professionals and
talented faculty, while spending 14 days in the heart of the historic Hudson River
Valley. You’ll make new friends and maybe even discover what you want to be
when you grow up. Think that’ll happen at a summer job?
“25 Most Connected
Campuses” by the
Princeton Review.
Do you have what it takes to become a fashion designer? Are you ready to pursue
a career in the fashion industry? If yes, then the Marist Summer Pre-College
Fashion Portfolio Development Program may be perfect for you. The curriculum
is taught by the faculty of the highly regarded Fashion Program at Marist, who all
have extensive experience in the fashion industry and related fields. In addition
students will explore the development of a clothing line culminating in a final
portfolio presentation by the end. Students will develop a strong understanding
of fashion design and ultimately learn how to develop and improve their own
fashion portfolio. Students will take field trips to New York City to visit to
the Metropolitan Museum of Art and
the renowned Fashion Institute of
Technology in order to explore fashion
design outside of the classroom.

“Overall, the program at Marist
was more than what I thought it
would be. I learned so much about
a topic I’m interested in and might
want to pursue as a career. I got a
good sense of what college life is
like and met great people. I can’t
think of a better way I could have
spent two weeks.”
