Since its beginning, the program has been a vital stepping stone in the careers of prominent West Michigan business leaders. Heart of West Michigan United Way 118 Commerce Ave. SW Grand Rapids, MI 49507 PH: 616.459.6281 FX: 616.459.8460 Communications @waybetterunitedway.org The Campaign Account Representative (formerly Loaned Executive) Program provides an opportunity for current and future West Michigan business leaders to: Network with local business professionals Build and enhance their professional skills Raise funding to create a vibrant, safe and caring community where all children thrive and all people enjoy maximum health and self-sufficiency Overview The 14-week program welcomes approximately 8-10 students and/or professionals to assist with United Way’s campaign efforts. CAR’s provide leadership and assist workplace campaigns from start to finish – planning, developing and implementing the campaign. CAR’s are carefully selected individuals who will work with CEOs, Campaign Coordinators, volunteers and staff. They need to be: Recently graduated or a graduate student Background in sales, marketing and public relations Self-motivated Flexible Able to work independently and solve problems Job responsibilities Develop professional relationships with Campaign Coordinators. Prepare and motivate coordinators regarding campaign techniques that will enhance overall employee contributions Monitor and report campaign progress on a regular basis with appropriate professional staff to identify problem areas and concerns Oversee scheduling and conducting of employee group meetings for assigned accounts; ensure availability of necessary resources (campaign materials, videos, speakers, etc.) Assist and/or speak at group campaign meetings, campaign team training, and kick-off functions. Must utilize own transportation for fieldwork (company mileage reimbursement) Timeline August 17-21, 2009: Training - product knowledge, sales, presentation and systems training. Must attend full training. Aug. 24-Nov. 20: Leadership in Supporting Workplace Campaigns A typical work day is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required due to various business hours of accounts serviced. Schedules may be changed as needed to include some evenings and weekends.
