PELLVIT LSS
•
Prepares the hide in soaking for unhairing with excellent consistency,
providing the perfect preconditions for good hair-root and fine-hair
removal, even with a reduced sulfide offer.
•
Improves the effect of the immunisation and the accessibility of sulfide
to the hair root in such a way that a low sulfide hair save unhairing
process can be applied without hair-root problems.
•
Provides particularly clean, smooth pelts with good lay-out and high

area yield, if subsequent liming includes an ERHAVIT liming agent to
improve the efficiency and penetration of all liming chemicals.
•
Effectively performs the soaking of all kinds of hides and skins without
having a negative effect on the integrity of bellies and flanks.
•
Promotes the removal of dirt, blood and dung.
•
Is free of nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE) and more than 90%
biodegradable by OECD standards.

PELLVIT LSS is added undiluted to the soaking bath.
A quantity of about 0.3 – 0.5% should slowly develop a stable pH between
9.5 and 10, in about 120 mins. At this pH the hide is optimally prepared for

subsequent unhairing. The greasier the hides, the more PELLVIT LSS
will be needed.

It is best to completely avoid the combination of PELLVIT LSS with soda
ash, caustic soda or sodium sulfide in soaking.
®
For very greasy hides the additional use of BORRON DL to properly
remove surface grease, is recommended.
®

The use of a preserving agent (e.g. ARACIT KL new or ARACIT DA)
during soaking is also recommended.
To boost the soaking effect 0.1 – 0.2% of a proteolytic soaking agent like

PELLVIT C might also be added.
