American Dream Writing Assignment
Write an essay that shows your best writing that answers the following questions:
• What is your vision of the American Dream? What dreams do many Americans share? What dreams define us as a nation?
• What is your dream for your life? That is, what is your ideal vision for how you want your life to be? Be specific. If your dream is work-related, tell about the type of work you want to do, the amount of money you want to make, etc.
• How does your dream relate with your vision of the
American Dream? What are the similarities and differences?
• Start with an introduction paragraph that has some sort of attention getter and a thesis statement.
• End with a concluding paragraph.
Please write at least one paragraph for each bullet point, for a total of five paragraphs. You may certainly write more.
One of the things I will be looking at is how you develop your ideas throughout the essay. Use transitions to relate each paragraph to the thesis statement.
