About Bloomy Controls
and KEMA-Powertest
Energy storage systems (ESSs) are rapidly
Bloomy Controls partnered with KEMA-Powertest, a leading
authority in energy testing and certification, to develop a data
becoming an important element of the
acquisition and control system to evaluate and test utility scale
electric utility grid, and standardized testing
energy storage systems.
is necessary to ensure reliable products are
delivered to market. With Bloomy Controls’
experience and focus on utility scale ESS
testing, manufacturers have an automated
test and control solution to evaluate their
ESS products. To ensure system integrity,
KEMA provides a third-party, independent
energy storage test lab to evaluate the
performance and installation requirements
of ESSs up to 2 MW. KEMA utilizes Bloomy
Controls’ energy storage data acquisition and
control system to execute performance and
application testing and to provide a KEMA
Energy Storage Data Acquisition and Control System
Report of Performance to their customers.
The energy storage data acquisition and control system is used to simultaneously
measure, record, and analyze numerous ESS signals such as AC and DC voltages
and currents, environmental temperature and airflow, and communications to the
battery management system or master controller. The system provides an interface
to ESS modeling databases, along with the appropriate control and communications
hardware, to simulate utility applications such as peak shaving and frequency
regulation. Final system performance results are automatically analyzed based on
industry standards. Learn more at ni.com/energy_storage.
