Financial Professional Associate Internship - Agency Distribution Financial Professional Associate (FPA) Internship is available at 49 agency locations throughout the United States. The Prudential FPA Internship Program in Agency Distribution is an opportunity for top students to gain relevant work experience in various aspects of Financial Services, particularly marketing and distribution. The program offers students challenging and meaningful work that will allow them to demonstrate their abilities, apply knowledge acquired through college courses, and evaluate future employment opportunities within the Company. FPA Interns will have the opportunity to be coached by experienced management professionals and job shadow successful individuals who have chosen a career in the financial services industry. Agency Distribution FPA Interns will gain first-hand experience and preparation for a career in an exciting and rewarding field of business. Individuals will be considered for full time careers as Financial Professional Associates after graduation, with a two year career path that will ultimately provide them with entrepreneurial opportunities to run their own business. In addition, these entry positions can be foundational for some management career opportunities in marketing, recruiting and distribution. Responsibilities Agency Distribution FPA Interns will be responsible for conducting local marketing research, identifying target markets, identifying organizations and contacts in the local community who can help facilitate the penetration of the target markets, and identifying and executing opportunities for agency branding and recognition in the local community. In addition, FPA Interns will assist with the recruitment and selection of Financial Professional Associates on college campuses, career fairs and diverse groups within local communities. Eligibility The Agency Distribution FPA Internship is available to full-time college students. The internship begins in the late spring and lasts until graduation (approximately 52 weeks) beginning between the junior and senior year of college. The internship is full-time during the summer months and interns are expected to remain active in the position between 5 – 10 hours per week when school is in session. Requirements Business, Insurance, Entrepreneurship majors preferred or individual with prior sales experience Minimum 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) Superior communication (both oral and written) Leadership skills Quantitative and analytical skills are desirable Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Resourcefulness, flexibility and creativity Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Interested in a career in financial services Likes to work in a structured work environment with defined processes Commitment to high ethical standards and integrity Any applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to an extensive background screening and a credit check.
