Description:
4-H summercampsprovideanopportunitytoexperiencenewandexcitingactivities;includingclimbingwall,
archery,canoeing,andmanyothersofferedinasafe,supervisedenvironmentwherecamperscanexplorenew
areasofinterestwithencouragementfromtrainedcounselorsandstaff.Counselorslead,instruct,andsupervise
campersinallareasofsummercampprogramming.ThecampisrunoutoftheRMCooperLeadershipCenterin
Summerton,SC.Weareinvolvedinallofthefollowingtypesofcamps:4-H,disabilityandspecialneeds,and

PrincipalDuties:
• Assistinteachingallcomponentsofthesummercampprogramincludingcanoeing,teamscourse,high
ropes,climbingwall,recreation,artsandcrafts,swimming,tubing,paintball,andarchery(training
provided).
• Leadcampersindailyprogramclassesandactivities(wake-up,flagpole,meals,campfire,andwrapup).
• Becomeactivelyinvolvedinallprogramactivities,leadingandparticipatingineveningrecreationaland
instructionaltimesasscheduled.
• Assistwithroutineclean-up.
• Chooseaspecialtyareatoassistasneededwithrentalgroupresponsibilities.
• Set-up,maintain,andbreakdownthesiteandprogramareas.
• Performdirectsupervisionofchildrenwhileinvolvedinclassesandactivities.
• Performcampcounselordutiesincludingstayingwithandattendingtocampersovernightwhiletheyare
atcamp.
• PerformdutiesthatarerequiredbytheCampDirector.
Qualifications:
• MusthaveaHighSchoolDegree.
• Workingtowardcollegedegree(Juniors/Seniorsoughtafter).
• Residentialcampexperiencepreferred.
• Musthavethepatience,understanding,flexibility,andenergytoworkandlivewithcampersandstaff.
• Mustdemonstrateteachingskillsandtheabilitytoimplementcreative“hands-on”teachingmethods.
• Mustbewillingtosacrifice,adapt,andworkhardaspartofateampursuingonecommongoaland
objective.
Salary:$440-$580twiceamonthplusroomandboardandasickness/accidentalinsuranceplan.
