2016 SENIOR POSTERS

2016 SENIOR POSTERS
Posters are made to display at the senior party.
Whether you are preparing traditional paper or digital posters, the basics are the same.
The poster is for your senior; it can be simple or elaborate. There is no wrong way.
POSTERS NEED TO BE VERTICAL
Traditional poster: Use standard size 23”x29” or 22”x28” poster board in Eastview colors; blue, black or white
(smooth surface poster board is best for laminating). Poster board can be found at office supply stores, copy stores
or craft stores. FREE poster boards are available at Cornerstone Copy Center in Burnsville.
Digital poster: Get as close to the standard size 23”x29” or 22”x28” as possible. Digital options are available at all
photo centers (Cornerstone Copy Center, Sam’s Club, Costco, Snapfish, Apple Valley Mail n’ Parcel).
PICK OUT YOUR PHOTOS
Posters can include your child’s whole life, just their school years, only senior year or some particular theme – the
choice is yours. You may want to make color copies of your photos, since they will be laminated. It is best to use
photo tape, double sided tape or glue sticks. Do not use scotch or masking tape or rubber cement. Memorabilia and
embellishments can be included – on traditional posters, keep items flat due to lamination.
LAMINATION
Traditional & Digital: After construction, laminate the poster (more information and special pricing will be
provided at a later date). We have no preferences between hot or cold lamination.
LABEL YOUR POSTER
Put the student’s name and cell phone number on the back of the poster after lamination with a permanent marker.
PLANNING SESSIONS
We will offer several planning sessions to help answer any of your questions, provide many examples and assist you
however we can. The planning sessions will be held in the school commons. Please watch the Eastview Daily
Email Announcements or check the senior information page on the EVHS website for dates and times. The local
scrapbook stores also offer classes to assist you. There will also be poster examples on the school website.
DROP OFF POSTER
You will be dropping off poster at the school sometime towards the end of May, beginning of June. Information on
the exact date, time and place will be available through the Eastview Daily e-mail announcements and via the senior
information page on the EVHS website.
PICK UP POSTER
Your student will bring the poster home with them from the senior party.

IMPORTANT TIPS & GUIDELINES
●● LIMIT: 1 Poster Per Senior will be accepted at the EVHS party.
●● Have fun! Create a theme, use school colors, quotes, song lyrics,
poems, childhood memories, school memories, etc...
●● Items should not extend beyond edge of poster board.
●● All handmade posters must be laminated for display at EVHS party.
●● We recommend using copies of memorabilia items, not
originals. Items cannot be removed after lamination process.
●● Use a glue stick. We do not recommend using rubber cement,
double-sided tape, spray glue or scrapbook tape due to heat activated
reaction which can cause air bubbles and item shift during lamination.
●● Limit layering items to 1 to 2 layers to prevent air bubbles during
lamination process.
●● Beware when using 3D scrapbook items. Thick items may show
large air bubbles. Some 3D items may be too thick to fit through laminator.
●● Label the back of the poster with full student name, high school
name, and phone number.
