Skills Australia Recommendations 2011
Specific recommendations including:

enterprise demand based funding
• Entitlements for all up to Cert III, increased fees
for Cert IV and above
• Move to output based funding models

Challenges

To support human resource development within the first
phase of development of a large integrated gaming resort
with three hotels

To provide consultancy supporting training department’s
delivery of all pre-opening training to 7,000 employees

To customise a fully integrated pre-opening Simulation to
test team member skills and hotel operations systems and
procedures.

Partnership model with Galaxy Macau™ to provide full
time consultancy to T&D department 10 months prior to
Opening to support all pre-opening gaming and nongaming training delivery.

Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to create a
training and progression culture within Galaxy Macau™
with the capability to meet future growth.

Customise all non-gaming position specific training
manuals in line with standard operating procedures

Customise and deliver a 14-day fully integrated preopening Simulation incorporating all three hotels and
gaming operations with real time feedback and
recommended measures for improvement when needed.

• Guaranteed place/ credit in specified Monash degrees
for BHI students (with required achievement level)
• Target schools (including low SES) for joint offers
• Identify interest from Monash students in coenrolment and reverse articulation
• Offer an alternative/ bridging options for courses with
high attrition
• Provide collaborative whole-of-enterprise training for
industry
• Provide alternative pathway for Monash College
Foundation Year students who do not attain a Monash
place to do a year at Box Hill and re-enter Monash
