Administrative History
High Street United Methodist Church is located at 219 S. High St. in Muncie, Indiana. The church's history in Muncie can be dated back to 1836. The church was built in 1930 after the pastor was sent to
Europe to study church architecture. This study helped develop the church's Gothic style and structure.
The church was named High Street Methodist Church in 1939 after the Methodist Protestant, Methodist
Episcopal, and Methodist Episcopal South joined together to form one body. In 1968, the church merged with the Evangelical United Brethren Church leading to the church's current name.
The church's mission is to "make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world." Their vision is to be a place where people come together to worship God, connect with other Christians to grow, and serve Christ in the community. The church serves their local community, along with people outside of the community, through charity events that take place throughout the year.
