Welcome to EDL 623! Our first in-class session will be on March 14 at the UCLC Moline campuses. We have guest speakers coming the first and second weekend of class. Please see the syllabus for details. You will need to bring a laptop to each class session and have access to your Western Online account.

The course syllabus is attached and is posted via Western Online. The syllabus provides most of the information about the course and the requirements for students. Contact me if you have any questions or help accessing

Western Online. Discussion questions for the three required texts are posted online. Our course will be available in Western Online within the next day or so. Go to our online classroom and post a welcome message in the thread I started under the “Discussions” tab.

For the first class session (March 14):

1.

Bring a laptop computer.

2.

Bring the three textbooks.

3.

Be prepared to share a current event or a current article from a magazine or newspaper related to school leadership and/or collective bargaining.

If you have any questions concerning the course, syllabus, or assignments, contact me via e-mail ( so-yager@wiu.edu

) or my cell phone (309-255-0955).
