Stuart Yager
Summer, 2015
Welcome to EDL 620! Our first class session will be on June 10, 2015 at the three
campuses all at once via live video. I will be at Macomb the first weekend. You will need
to bring a laptop to each class session and have access to your Western Online
account. The course syllabus will be completed soon and posted via Western Online. I
will also email you a copy of the syllabus. The syllabus provides most of the information
about the course and the requirements for students. I will review how to access Western
Online and work within it on our first day of class. Lectures, discussion questions, articles,
presentations, and sample assignments are all posted online. Listed below are the required
texts for the course.
For the first class session (June 10):
1. Bring a laptop computer.
2. Bring the five textbooks.
3. Read The Servant as Leader text before the first day of class.
4. Study the syllabus before June 10.
5. Be prepared to share a current event or a current article from a magazine or
newspaper related to school leadership.
If you have any questions concerning the course, syllabus, or assignments, contact me via
e-mail ( so-yager@wiu.edu ) or my cell phone (309-255-0955).
