Take the laptop out and put it on the top of the podium. Press the Power button on the DELL laptop to start the computer. Point the NEC remote control at the projector in the ceiling, and press the green Power button to turn on the projector. If you don’t see the computer screen, press Source button on the NEC remote control for the computer screen. 5. Log on the computer with your username and password. 6. Start your presentation by opening a specific application (e.g., PowerPoint or Word). 7. (Optional) If you want to use audio, turn on the amplifier, and adjust the volume control with label of VCR/DVD Volume. Steps for VCR and DVD Player Use Only 1. Unlock the cabinet door. 2. Point the NEC remote control at the projector in the ceiling, and press the green Power button to turn on the projector. 3. Turn on the amplifier, and adjust the volume control with label of VCR/DVD Volume. 4. Insert the videotape into the VCR (left). If you don’t see the VCR/Cable TV, press Source button on the NEC remote control for the TV screen. 5. Press the Play button on the VCR or on the VCR remote control. 6. To play DVD a movie, open the DVD tray on the right and place the DVD disk. To switch between VCR/DVD and the computer screen, Press Source button on the NEC remote control to automatically search for the computer screen and/or VCR screen. Troubleshooting: Problem: After turning on the computer and the projector, you don’t see the computer log-on screen but blue NEC in the center. Solution: On your laptop keyboard, hold Fn key and press F8 one to three times until you see both screens. While pressing Fn+F8 keys, it toggles among three modes: 1) laptop screen only; 2) both laptop and LCD screens; and 3) LCD projector screen only. Shut Down Procedures: 1. Shut down the computer and put the laptop back into the cabinet. 2. Press and hold the POWER button for a minimum of two seconds until you see a message line “Please wait a moment…” at the bottom of the screen to release. The projector will be automatically shut down in seconds. 3. Put the remote controls into the cabinet. 4. Lock the cabinet door. Page 1 of 1
