2016 Kindergarten Camp
Propel Registration
Registration Deadline is April 15, 2016
Who Should Attend?
This program is for children who are enrolled to
begin kindergarten in District 196 this September.
Classes are held for three weeks in July and August,
Monday through Thursday, at many of the district’s
elementary schools.
Kindergarten Camp Propel is designed for children who:
• have not participated with other children in a group
setting or have had limited preschool experience
• are learning English
• need additional time and support in transitioning
to a new routine
Transportation
Transportation is available to the elementary school
based on your attendance area. Busing to magnet
or open enrollment schools outside your attendance
area is NOT available. Registration must be received
by April 15, 2016 in order to be included in the initial
transportation scheduling.
Tuition
The full tuition fee for this program is $180. Tuition
assistance is available and determined by family
size and annual income. Your fee is determined by
answering the tuition questions during registration.
Payment is not required at this time. You will be
billed at a later date.
Meals
Food & Nutrition Services will be serving breakfast
and lunch at each school, although students may
choose to bring meals from home. Payments for
meals can be made via School View/FeePay or on
the first day of school by check. Please make checks
out to School District 196-Foodservice and include
the child’s full name in the memo. Your household
may be eligible for free and reduced-priced meals.
Online applications for school meal benefits will be
available after July 1st, 2016. All applications need
to be submitted and officially processed prior to the
start of camp to determine your eligibility. Detailed
information will be available this spring on the district
