User Services focuses on …
Excellent services for faculty, students and
staff
 Consistency and reliability so that they can
be productive
 Responsiveness so that problems are
acknowledged and solved in a timely way
to the user’s satisfaction
 The time and effort that service delivery
takes needs to be acknowledged!

Therefore …
Students can work in computing sites;
software is available; printers function, etc.
 LMS support for ~15,500 students, in 837
courses, taught by 460 individual faculty
 Desktop and virus protection support
 Instructional and research consulting and
support – desktop, servers and central
systems
 Comprehensive training program

User Services
LMS evaluation, selection, adoption, and
implementation to replace WebCT
 Content management system evaluation,
selection, adoption, and implementation
 Cyberinfrastructure development
 Collaboration environments
 Smith Hall renovation move
 Consulting and training

RDMS



Upgrade SunRay servers; Strauss migration
Extend network-based access to content and metadata
for geospatial data collections, survey data collections,
and image repositories
Develop campus cyberinfrastructure plans and support




Increase value of Internet2 membership to UD
Investigate collaboration tools for research users
Expanded survey/polling/data-acquisition services
(Qualtrics)
Extend short course offerings in statistical software
topics
Instructional support

Develop and manage a sound migration from
WebCT to UDLMS (Sakai)
Maintain current LMS services (WebCT)
Increase UD's presence and collaboration in the
Sakai community
Support UD assessment efforts
Advocate for established, and investigate
emerging, technologies that have the most
promise for teaching and learning

Transform IT computing site space to encourage
