Learn more at www.uwstout.edu UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT PARQ Planning • Held university-wide engagement sessions for third year in a row • Implemented 17 university-wide action items based on engagement session feedback • Estimate 75% of faculty/staff participated in the planning process • More than 70% of performance indicator targets met or on track to be met by 2015 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT PARQ Planning Selected Planning Accomplishments: • Supplemental compensation program (phase 2) implemented, reallocating approximately $550,000 for salary adjustments. • “Pick One!” initiative developed and implemented • Reassigned time program (phase 1) to be implemented to promote more research • Continued student jobs proposal with 110 students to be included in 2014-15 • Building dashboard software implemented UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT PARQ- Institutional Research Completed Projects: • 12 university-wide surveys • 10 external surveys • 84 institutional research projects • 196 planning tasks • 113 graduate student projects • 370 tasks completed by PARQ students • 10 participants in PolyDASHER • 13 data lead requests UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT PARQ-Qualtrics • There are 1,985 registered Qualtrics users at UW-Stout. • They have generated 8,039 surveys for use in research, course evaluations, and a wide variety of other applications. • In 2013-14, over 72 faculty, staff and students attended group trainings on how to use Qualtrics. • The Qualtrics Training and Support office responded to more than 250 individual requests for assistance and training. Approved seven programs and approved five Notices of Intent to Plan. Learn more at www.uwstout.edu UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT Academic and Student Affairs 2013-14 ASA Targeted Projects and accomplishments • Continue to increase activities/activity support for UW Stout as an Applied Research Institution. • Provost’s Office support for Just in Time and other grants increased by $11,000 and the generally funding curriculum development came to an end. • Taskforce on research release time has provided a model for consideration. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT Academic and Student Affairs • Approval secured to fund reassigned time for faculty and instructional academic staff with large grants in 2014-15. • Increased Focus on: • Restructuring the graduate function within the university • Restructuring enfranchisement of faculty/departments in relation with Discovery Center • Start-up funds ($22,853) were awarded to 7 faculty. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT Academic and Student Affairs • Develop a strategic plan to increase and manage graduate enrollments. • Developing a strategic marketing planning is fully underway. Taskforce has partnered with external consultant, DemandEngine. • DemandEngine has made recommendations and the taskforce will reconvene to make improvements related to graduate school marketing, recruiting, and enrollment. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT Academic and Student Affairs • Develop instructional workload guidelines for use across campus. • Workload output from 2012-13 taskforce shared with the deans. • All deans have agreed to implement a 15 credit workload requirement for instructional academic staff. • Other workload guidelines will be under development in fall 2014 with a final report anticipated in December 2014. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT Academic and Student Affairs • Developing a strategic plan to increase and manage international enrollments. • A draft three-year project plan was presented to the Provost for consideration. • 2013-14 brought about increased international relationships, partnerships, MOUs, and recruitment. • This initiative is still under development with anticipation of identifying a plan by December 2014.
