Plant Cells and Tissues Prepared Slides Lab
Purpose
To study the microscopic elements of plant cells & tissues
Materials
Microscope
Prepared slides:
Pencil
1. Corn Stem
Unlined paper
2. L. Draba Root
Petri dishes
3. Peach Leaf
Colored pencils
4. Tinsoga Stem Collenchyma
Method
1. Observe & sketch in pencil each of the four slides using the microscope. Fill the Petri
dish circle (magnify with your own eye to do this).
2. Color/shade your sketches appropriately. Drawings should be on unlined white paper,
centered, labeled (when possible), & titled (underneath sketch, under-lined, centered).
Include magnification for each slide next to its title.
*Informal write up. One partner, each turn in own lab.
*All drawings must be in the results (data) section of the lab write-up.
Analysis
 Using you text, label xylem & phloem in each drawing to the best of your ability.
