The Crucible, Arthur Miller
Reading Guide and Writing Assignments
Below is a guide to reading and responding to The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Please be sure that you have
completed the required reading and reader’s notebook entry by the date listed.
Each entry is worth 20 points (3 entries = 60 points) Any entries that are not completed on the day they are ‘due’ will
NOT be graded when I collect your Reader’s Notebooks on Tuesday, April 20th. However: If you show me the
completed RN entry the DAY AFTER it is due, I will count it as ONE DAY LATE (90% credit).
You will be graded on completeness of thought and specific evidence to support your analysis (key quotes,
key examples). As always, let me know if you have any questions.
