He has worked in both the acute and primary healthcare sectors, based in medical oncology until 1987 when he moved into general practice as a GP in Egremontin, West Cumbria. She is Chair of Trustees for Hull churches ‘Home from Hospital’ service, a charity offering free social care for older patients discharged from hospital, support services for carers, telehealth, and support for the children and families of people with cancer. Patient/Public Representative Maggie Whitlock Maggie Whitlock has over 40 years experience in the NHS which includes general and cardiothoracic intensive care and theatre experience, infection control in secondary care and the community, and public health. Patient/Public Representative Olga Jannsen Olga Janssen has 10 years experience of patient involvement at trust, regional and national level, with a particular interest in quality improvement. She is a retired vice-principal of an inner London adult and community college and an Ofsted Inspector. Until recently she was Vice Chair of Redcar and Cleveland LINk and is now a member of Healthwatch. She is also a volunteer for Unite Mediation - a charity that works to reduce conflict in society. Doctor Sion Barnard Mr Sion Barnard is Consultant Thoracic Surgeon in Newcastle upon Tyne with 30 years clinical experience, almost half at consultant level. He also sits on the Specialty Advisory Committee and has been part of the Guidelines Development Group for the NICE 2011 Lung Cancer Guidelines. Doctor Andrew Burtenshaw Dr Andrew Burtenshaw is jointly accredited for anaesthetics and intensive care medicine and is currently employed as a consultant at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. His interests include education, training and research. Doctor Bill Cunnliff Mr Bill Cunliffe has had 21 years experience as a consultant colorectal surgeon, 6 years as a medical director of a large district general hospital, and 3 years working with the Royal College of Surgeons of England Invited Review Team to help trusts with problems in their surgical services. Doctor Rowena Hitchcock Rowena Hitchcock has 30 years medical experience latterly as Consultant Paediatric Urologist at Oxford University Children's Hospital and is President of the British Association of Paediatric Urologists. Nurse Christine Pearson Christine Pearson is Deputy Director of Nursing at Salford Royal Foundation Trust and has worked in the NHS for 32 years. She has clinical, managerial and leadership experience, gained in both community and acute hospitals.
