A weekly bulletin for Red Team and Mr. Bily’s Social Studies and Language Arts news

Chief Editor: Mr. Bily November 30, 2015 Issue 15

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

A gentle reminder : There are just three weeks left in the quarter. I want to take this opportunity to let you know about some upcoming assignments/assessments in Social Studies. To begin, we will be continuing our late 19th century unit with a focus on Native American displacement in the western US. Students will watch the HBO film, “Bury My Heart at

Wounded Knee”, based on the critically acclaimed novel. Upon completion, students will create an essay response using

Office 365 surrounding an Essential Question relating to Native American treatment by the US Gov’t. after the Civil War.

Additionally, students should begin reading Chapters 20 and 21 from their SS textbook, as their will be a Unit 6 test in several weeks covering Chapters 19-21.

Yours in education,

Mr. Bily
