Salary schedules are posted at
http://www.ncpublicschools.org/docs/fbs/finance/salary/schedules/2014-15schedules.pdf
Teachers and instructional support are no longer eligible for longevity payments earned after July 1,
2014.
Held Harmless
The legislation includes the following language which is intended to ensure that no teacher makes less in
2014-15 than in 2013-14.
SECTION 9.1.(e) A teacher compensated in accordance with this salary schedule shall receive an amount
equal to the greater of
(i)
the applicable amount on the salary schedule
or
(ii)
the sum of the teacher's salary plus the annual longevity payment that was effective for
the 2013-2014 school year.
In addition, educators receiving compensation equal to the sum of the teacher's salary plus the annual
longevity payment that was effective for the 2013-2014 school year shall receive an annual bonus of
$1,000, payable monthly.
To determine if the teacher is paid based on 2013-14 or 2014-15 schedule
Compare the salary per the 2013-14 schedule + any longevity paid with the salary per the 2014-15.
Following are examples

= $63,530(b)
