Enrollment up at ISU and UNI
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - Enrollment is up for two Iowa universities this fall.
Iowa State University reports 26,160 students -- a 2.7% increase from last fall.
It's the first time since 2002 that ISU enrollment has climbed.
Also, University of Northern Iowa saw its student population jump nearly 3% this
fall, with 12,609 students.
Officials at the two schools credit a rise in state support and recruiting efforts for
boosting enrollment.
University of Iowa plans to release its numbers next week.
