Associated Press 04-19-07 John Deere gives $1.25 million to ISU AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa State University has been awarded a one-and-aquarter--million-dollar grant from the John Deere Foundation. Deere and Company announced the grant today . It will be used to build a new agricultural and biosystems engineering facility. University officials say the building is part of a plan for a 166-thousand-squarefoot complex that will include the school's Office of Biorenewables Programs. It is expected to cost about 63--million-dollars. Michael Mack Jr. is director of the John Deere Foundation. He says I-S-U is in a strong position to provide leadership for the biorenewables effort.
