Des Moines Register 03-02-07 ISU classes in session, but caution urged for commuters REGISTER STAFF REPORTS Iowa State University classes will be in session today. However, university officials said they recognize that many commuters may not be able to get to campus. While conditions on campus are relatively good, students, faculty and staff should carefully consider their local situation and heed official warnings when deciding whether to travel. Interstate Highway 35 and several county roads in the Ames area remain closed. Faculty are urged to accommodate students who cannot attend class due to travel difficulties. Department chairs are encouraged to make allowances for faculty who cannot make it to campus, and supervisors are asked to make similar accommodations for other employees. Officials will monitor the weather throughout the day. Watch the Iowa State University homepage (www.iastate.edu) for further announcements.
