Agri News, MN 12-12-06 Midwest news and notes Tuesday, December 12, 2006 ISU researches how ethanol has changed corn marketing Iowa State University has started to research how the ethanol industry has charged corn marketing. ISU is collecting information about corn use in ethanol production and in livestock feed. The data is being combined with the study of Iowa's ethanol and co-product production capacities and storage capacities to create an overall picture of the impact of ethanol production on agriculture. "Processing and storage capacity, corn quality and consumption, and distribution of distillers grains were the main points of interest,'' said Connie Hardy, program specialist for ISU Extension. "But interview data also included plant managers' opinions about future industry needs in market development, transportation and logistics, and worker training.''
