University of Wisconsin-Stout
Project Lead the Way
Earning University of Wisconsin-Stout credit for Project Lead the Way courses:
Secondary school students successfully completing Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses may apply for
transcripted college credit from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The student will receive 3 semester credits
per course, subject to the following conditions:



The school must be certified by PLTW
All requirements for the PLTW courses must be satisfied, and the student must achieve an average of
85% or better for the course
The college credit exam must be taken and passed with a grade of at least 70%
The University of Wisconsin-Stout will accept transcripted credit for PLTW courses from other Affiliate
University. Up to six (6) such credits may be used as electives towards a degree at the University of WisconsinStout. Possible substitution of PLTW credits for meeting specific programmatic requirements at the University
is at the discretion of the individual programs. Currently, at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, PLTW courses
do not have specific program equivalents.

How to register for University of Wisconsin-Stout credit for PLTW courses (we recommend making copies of the
form at each step to keep for personal records):
1. Download the Registration Form from http://www.uwstout.edu/pltw/hs.cfm
2. Student must complete the “STUDENT INFORMATION” section and give to PLTW teacher.
3. PLTW teacher must complete the “INSTRUCTOR/COURSE INFORMATION” section of the form
and mail it to:

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:
To earn three University of Wisconsin-Stout credits for a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course, students must complete
the “STUDENT INFORMATION” section of this form and submit it to their PLTW high school instructor for approval.
A separate registration form is required for each PLTW course. Students will be notified by US Mail when PLTW credits
are on their official University of Wisconsin-Stout transcript. Students may request an official University of WisconsinStout transcript by following the directions on-line at http://www.uwstout.edu/regrec/transcripts.cfm .
PLEASE NOTE: Required items on this form are marked with * and will be used for identification and to establish or
reference your University of Wisconsin-Stout record. The remaining items are voluntary and will be used for positive
identification, reporting and institutional research.
