Computer Science Minor Requirements The Computer Science Minor is designed to give the student a core of basic computer science courses plus electives in his or her area of interest. A minimum of 21 credits are required for the minor. Elective courses applicable to the minor are divided into computer science courses (Group I) and related application courses (Group II). Twelve (12) credits of computer science foundation courses are required. Six (6) credits must be selected from Group I and the remaining credits required may be chosen from either Group I or Group II. Grades for courses taken for the minor must be C (2.00) or higher. Programs for the Computer Science Minor must be approved by the Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science Department. In the course list that follows, it should be noted that some of the courses have prerequisites that do not count toward the minor. Students are urged to ensure that they have the background necessary for the courses they intend to include in the minor. This is a nonteaching minor and is not certifiable for teaching purposes.
