The Cat in the Hat Revisited: Understanding Childhood Psychiatric Disorders Program Description Using the popular book by Dr. Seuss, an examination of the major childhood psychiatric disorders will be discussed. Anxiety Disorders; Obsessive Compulsive & Related D/O; Trauma & Stressor Related D/O; Depressive D/O; Bipolar & Related D/O; Disruptive, Impulse Control & Conduct D/O; Bipolar & Related D/O; and Neurodevelopmental D/O will be defined in a clinical classification using the DSM V as well as in behavioral terms. Film clips, case examples, and experiential learning will be used in teaching the most effective treatment modalities and interventions for each disorder. She is in private practice in Asheville, NC where she practices individual, family, group and play therapy, as well as providing extensive clinical supervision.
