Description
The Hybrid Energy System Sub Rack from Emerson Network Power
provides reliable -48V power supply to unreliable or off-grid telecom
sites in the access network. The system is designed to work with any
combination of energy sources (mains, diesel generator, solar panel,
wind turbine) to keep the battery within optimal operating conditions.
The use of renewable energy sources is dependent on site location,
which is especially important when considering the use of wind turbines.
Application
Significant OpEx savings can be attained by adding hybrid functionality
to a traditional dual diesel generator set-up that operates 24/7. Adding
hybrid energy will reduce maintenance and fuel costs due to reduced
diesel generator run times.
