Persepolis SUMMATIVE ASSIGNMENT
I) Analytical Component
Choosing one event from Persepolis, write a newspaper article in which you
present the details of the story in a newspaper format. For example, you could create the
newspaper article for when Uncle Anoosh is executed.
You must present your article in a newspaper format (columns) with a headline.
Your article must answer these FIVE questions: Who? What? Where? When? Why?

II) Creative Component
Choose/design a creative extension for Persepolis. For example, you might write
your own poem, or choose a published poem that relates to a central theme in the novel.
You might also consider a photograph, a song, a video clip.
In a short presentation (1—2 minutes), explain your creative extension to the
class. Your presentation should make clear what the novel’s central theme is, and what
your process for choosing or creating your extension involved.
