The web site is called Substorm Zoo, because the aim is to present events in a variety of data series. In a sense, these events are the animals of heliospheric wild life. Hence the zoo. The goal of the SZoo Substorm Zoo provides a browser-based tool for time-series analysis of data. Particular interest is in the identification of geo-effective and other space weather structures. The web site enables the social data analysis by providing a possibility to create discussion groups, share event lists, upload own events, share the comments to the data etc. Szoo tools • Browser-based data analysis canvas for space weather and space climate time scales data. • Real-time Dashboard for solar storm and space weather monitoring. • Event catalogues from solar, solar wind and ground-based data. • Social data analysis tools e.g. discussion groups, file upload/ download, customized views, public/private options, user pages. • LabNotebook and historical events for education and public outreach. • MANY MANY MORE FEATURES… Browser-based data analysis tools Easy comparison of data Powerful online analysis methods Dashboard for real-time data Event catalogues and statistical tools Libraries of pre-identified events Social data analysis tools Discussion groups LabNotebook for education Historical events for public outreach Science case 1: “low” resolution data Rss 600 80 a r < 0.2 400 200 0 2000 2005 ICME, Rss/10 800 ICME and substorms 60 2000 r = 0.6 40 20 0 2000 2005 Year 2010 60 d 20 2000 r = 0.7 20 2000 2005 Year 2005 2010 HSS and storms 80 40 0 r > 0.8 40 0 2010 HSS, Rst b 2005 60 e ICME and storms 80 ICME, Rst Rst 60 r < 0.2 20 Storms 80 80 c 40 0 2010 HSS and substorms HSS, Rss/10 Substorms 2010 60 f r < 0.2 40 20 0 2000 2005 Year 2010 Science case 2: “high” resolution data http://www.substormzoo.org www.substormzoo.org
