Sample Cover Letter - Radiography Michael Baylor 56 Ridley Street Prahran, 3181 mbaylor24@gmail.com 0413 786 908 26 June, 2015 Ms Mita Pedersen Chief MIT Medical Imaging-Radiography Organ Imaging, Division of Operations The Royal Children’s Hospital 50 Flemington Road Parkville, Vic., 3052 Job reference: 30298 MIT Grade 1 Dear Ms Pedersen, I apply with enthusiasm for the above position and enclose my resume detailing qualifications, skills and clinical experience. The prospect of working in paediatric imaging is very appealing, especially the opportunity to improve my skills in CT and DSA and learn in state of the art DT facilities in the new premises of The Royal Children’s Hospital. My Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging degree was achieved at Monash University in 2014 and I hold a Statement of Accreditation from the Australian Institute of Radiography. Clinical placements at Western Health and Epworth Hospital provided the professional education to participate in a range of examinations, evaluate images and utilize radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. I plan to commence Master of Radiation Therapy in 2016. My communication skills were strengthened by collecting and recording information from patients and participating in departmental team meetings. As a person with an empathetic and calm manner I was able to put patients at ease and use effective listening skills to respond to their enquiries. I demonstrated cultural sensitivity and the ability to offer information clearly and concisely in patient interactions and in my dealings with other staff. With good planning, I have been able to balance involvement in volunteering as a tutor to Sudanese refugee children, casual work in retail and participation in competition hockey with academic study commitments. Overseas travel was one of the ways that I learned to deal with challenges and show my ability to adapt to change and be flexible when required. I hope I have been able to demonstrate my professional demeanour and positive attributes and welcome the opportunity to meet with you at interview. The best way to contact me is on my mobile 0413 908 678. Thank you for considering my application.
