What Does It Take To Be A Leader?
Hockey Canada Skills Academy
Centre Dufferin District High School
Leaders are often ordinary people who have done extraordinary things in their lifetime. It can be argued that
leaders are not born but created by their life's experiences. Working with a partner, prepare a presentation on a
unique leader of your choice. This person can be a past or present hockey player, political figure, scientist,
business icon or personal hero. You need to make sure that you have sufficient information for your report.
Your report must include a description of:
1. His or her life.
2. His or her accomplishments as a leader.
3. His or her leadership skills.
4. Any obstacles he or she might have overcome.
5. His or her impact on society then and now.
6. Why you chose this person.
Your presentation should be brief (5 to 10 minutes) and incorporate visual aids (pictures, audio visual, multimedia).
