Authority: These Regulations were made on 10th December, 1979 by the Minister under 1993/64. sections 18(2) and 31(1) of the Immigration Act. 1994/43. 1994/94. 1999/66. Commencement: 17th December, 1979. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Forms and Fees) Regulations, 1979. 2. An application (a) for permission to become an immigrant under section 6 of the Act must be made in the Form A set out in the First Schedule; and (b) to be registered as a permanent resident must be made in the Form A1 in the First Schedule. 3. An application under section 13(3) of the Act 1982/224. First Schedule. First Schedule. 1982/224. (a) for permission to remain in Barbados for a period longer than that specified in a permit issued under section 13(2); or (b) to have the condition of a permit referred to in paragraph (a) varied, must be made in the Form B set out in the First Schedule. 4. (1) An application for a work permit under section 18(1) of the Act must be made in the Form C-1 set out in the First Schedule, whether or not the applicant has received the offer of a job; but where the applicant has received the offer of a job the information required in the Form C-2 in the First Schedule must, in that form, be supplied by the prospective employer and forwarded by the applicant with the application. CAP. 190 Immigration L.R.O. 1999 A2 regs.5-9 (2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1), an application for a work permit in respect of a period not exceeding 6 months must be made in the Form C-3 set out in the First Schedule. The International Embarkation or Disembarkation card to be supplied to persons under section 31(1)(c) of the Act must be in the Form set out in the Form E in the First Schedule. 7. The certificate required to be obtained by a person under section 7(1) of the Act must be in the Form set out in the Form F in the First Schedule. 8. A dependant must, upon being permitted to enter Barbados, be issued with an entry permit in the Form G set out in the First Schedule. 9. (1) There is payable on behalf of an applicant in respect of the several matters set out in the first column of Part I of the Second Schedule the fee set out opposite thereto in the second column thereof. (2) There is payable on behalf of an applicant who is (a) a national of a member country of the Caribbean Community; or (b) a citizen of a foreign country, Second Schedule. in respect of the grant of an application for a work permit and in respect of the categories of employment specified in the first column of Part II of the Second Schedule, the fee set out opposite thereto in the second or third column, as the case may be, thereof. (2A) The fee mentioned in paragraph (2) is a monthly fee; but where a work permit is granted for a period exceeding one month the fee is to be multiplied by the period expressed in months and the sum so obtained is payable in advance. (2B) For the purposes of this paragraph, part of a month is to be counted as a month. (4) The Minister may remit the whole or a part of the fee 1982/2%. payable under these regulations by or on behalf of (4 any person who is employed or about to be employed in a religious, cultural or athletic field or full-time Government; with the (b) any person who is entitled to the issue of an H-X permit under regulation 5(2) Regulations, 1979; of the Immigration (Students) 19~19. (c) any person to whom ISCO Unit number 2-19 applies if the person is certified by the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation as an entrepreneur who is managing his own business in Barbados; and in paragraph (b), attending any regional educational institution or other tertiary institution approved by the Minister of Education. (4 students, other than those mentioned (4A) Notwithstanding paragraph (4) the Minister may in any case where circumstances warrant remit or waive any fee payable under these regulations. (5) For the purposes of this regulation (a) a person is to be regarded as a national of a member country of the Caribbean Community if he is (i) (ii) a citizen of that country, or has a connection with that country of a kind which entitles him to be regarded as belonging to, or if it be so expressed as being a native or resident of the country for the purposes of such laws thereof relating to immigration for the time being in force; (b) “Caribbean Community” has the meaning assigned to “Community” in section 2 of the Caribbean Community tsp. 15. Persons employed as trainers or trainees by any industrial enterprise, except an hotel, on the certificate of the Manager of the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation or any other officer in that Corporation designated in writing by the Minister responsible for Industry, to the effect that the training to be undertaken is beneficial to Barbados. 2. Persons employed as trainers or trainees by an hotel approved by the Minister responsible for Tourism on the certificate of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry responsible for Tourism or any other public officer in that Ministry designated in writingby that Minister.
