Authority: These Regulations were made on 10th December, 1979 by the Minister under 1993/64.

Commencement: 17th December, 1979.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Forms and
Fees) Regulations, 1979.
2. An application
(a) for permission to become an immigrant under section 6 of the
Act must be made in the Form A set out in the First Schedule;
and
(b) to be registered as a permanent resident must be made in the
Form A1 in the First Schedule.

(a) for permission to remain in Barbados for a period longer than
that specified in a permit issued under section 13(2); or
(b) to have the condition of a permit referred to in paragraph (a)
varied,
must be made in the Form B set out in the First Schedule.
4. (1) An application for a work permit under section 18(1) of
the Act must be made in the Form C-1 set out in the First Schedule,
whether or not the applicant has received the offer of a job; but where
the applicant has received the offer of a job the information required
in the Form C-2 in the First Schedule must, in that form, be supplied
by the prospective employer and forwarded by the applicant with the
application.

(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1), an application for a work
permit in respect of a period not exceeding 6 months must be made in
the Form C-3 set out in the First Schedule.

5. A deportation order under section 21(1) of the Act must be in
the Form D set out in the First Schedule.
6. The International Embarkation or Disembarkation card to be
supplied to persons under section 31(1)(c) of the Act must be in the
Form set out in the Form E in the First Schedule.
7. The certificate required to be obtained by a person under
section 7(1) of the Act must be in the Form set out in the Form F in the
First Schedule.
8. A dependant must, upon being permitted to enter Barbados, be
issued with an entry permit in the Form G set out in the First Schedule.
9. (1) There is payable on behalf of an applicant in respect of the
several matters set out in the first column of Part I of the Second
Schedule the fee set out opposite thereto in the second column thereof.
(2) There is payable on behalf of an applicant who is
(a) a national of a member country of the Caribbean Community;
or
(b) a citizen of a foreign country,

in respect of the grant of an application for a work permit and in
respect of the categories of employment specified in the first column
of Part II of the Second Schedule, the fee set out opposite thereto in the
second or third column, as the case may be, thereof.
(2A) The fee mentioned in paragraph (2) is a monthly fee; but where
a work permit is granted for a period exceeding one month the fee is to
be multiplied by the period expressed in months and the sum so
obtained is payable in advance.
(2B) For the purposes of this paragraph, part of a month is to be
counted as a month.

(3) There is payable on behalf of an applicant to whom
paragraph (2) refers in respect of the renewal of a work permit,
such fee as is specified in Part III of the Second Schedule.

(4A) Notwithstanding paragraph (4) the Minister may in any
case where circumstances warrant remit or waive any fee payable
under these regulations.
(5) For the purposes of this regulation
(a) a person is to be regarded as a national of a member
country of the Caribbean Community if he is
(i)
(ii)
a citizen of that country, or
has a connection with that country of a kind which
entitles him to be regarded as belonging to, or if it be
so expressed as being a native or resident of the
country for the purposes of such laws thereof relating
to immigration for the time being in force;
(b) “Caribbean Community”
has the meaning assigned to
“Community” in section 2 of the Caribbean Community tsp. 15.
Act.
(c) ‘Foreign country” means a country other than a member
country of the Caribbean Community.

THIRD SCHEDULE
(Regulation 9AJ
1.
Persons employed as trainers or trainees by any industrial enterprise, except an
hotel, on the certificate of the Manager of the Barbados Industrial Development
Corporation or any other officer in that Corporation designated in writing by the
Minister responsible for Industry, to the effect that the training to be undertaken is
beneficial to Barbados.
2.
Persons employed as trainers or trainees by an hotel approved by the Minister
responsible for Tourism on the certificate of the Permanent Secretary in the
Ministry responsible for Tourism or any other public officer in that Ministry
designated in writingby that Minister.
