Ensure that your AMWorks software is at the latest revision for the IP type with which you intend using the AMX switching system. If not, upgrade it now. For Ipv4, use AMWorks software 6.5.0.1. For Ipv6, use AMWorks software 7.0.0.21. 2. Then, ensure that the AMX50xx matrix switch firmware is at the latest revision for the IP type with which you intend using the AMX system. For Ipv4, use 3.6.0.0. For Ipv6, use 4.0.0.20. 3. Then, upgrade the AMX5111 / AMX5121 / AMX5130 user stations firmware to version 4.5.0.8. 1/3 =============================================================================== How to upgrade the AMX5111, AMX5121 and AMX5130 user stations =============================================================================== 1. From your AMWorks software, Select 'Admin Tools - Firmware Update' from the menu. 2. Select all of the AMX5111 / AMX5121 / AMX5130 user stations of the same type in your configuration. 3. From the "firmware update" dialog, select the update file. This file will be named "amx51p3.avt" for all AMX5111 / AMX5121 / AMX5130 user stations. Make sure you select the file that contains version 4.5.0.8. 4. Select "Begin Update", and all firmware updates will complete. You may update all your user stations of the same type in parallel for fastest results. =============================================================================== Enhancements =============================================================================== This release of firmware contains the following enhancements since 4.5.0.0: 1. Support for “IPv6” so that the AMX5111, AMX5121 and AMX5130 user stations will operate in both IPv4 and IPv6 configured AMX systems. 2. Support for ReRequest Pod feature. The purpose of this feature is to allow a User Station to attempt to regain access to a target if the User Station has no keyboard or mouse connected. When access is reestablished to the target, audio and serial access is also re-established. The “Pod” refers to the data channel between the User Station and an AMIQ module along which the keyboard, mouse, audio and serial data travels. Only one User Station can hold the pod channel to an AMIQ module at any time. This feature is disabled by default. A keyboard and/or mouse will be required to enable this feature. It can be enabled by following these steps. a) Bring up the receiver User Station OSD Command Line using the configured hotkey. b) Enable the “ReRequest Pod” feature by typing ‘enable rerequest pod’ and pressing return. c) The User Station will then attempt to request the pod channel if it has been connected to a target and does not have the pod channel. The User Station will make one request approximately every 10 seconds. The request will only be successful if the pod channel of the AMIQ module has been unused for the previous 1 second. d) Disable the “ReRequest Pod” feature at the User Station OSD Command Line by typing ‘disable rerequest pod’ and pressing return. e) Only enable this feature on one User Station if several User Stations are connected to the same target AMIQ module. ============================================================================== Fixes ============================================================================== The firmware in this release contains the following fixes since 4.5.0.0: 1. The User Station fpga [now 1.2.14.0] has been changed to improve the unit’s resistance to transient interference when connected targets are using either Composite (Sun) and Separate (Windows) video sync signal types. 2. De-skew was not being applied correctly to one colour with certain cables types. This issue is now fixed. 3. User Station could display blank video on the next connection after being connected to a target using Sync On Green type video syncs. This issue is now fixed. 4. At the User Station OSD Admin tab – Edit Device Audio/Serial screen you could not configure an AMIQDM modules audio/serial configuration settings. Those checkboxes had been grayed out. This issue is now fixed. 2/3 =============================================================================== Known Issues =============================================================================== The firmware in this release contains the following known issues: 1. If the upgrade/downgrade of an AMX5111 / AMX5121 / AMX5130 user station using AMWorks software fails, the user station could be left in bootloader (running boot code). The user station will display a message prompting for the update to be performed again. To update a user station that is in bootloader, perform a "device discovery” in AMWorks software and check that the user station was discovered. If the user station was discovered, it will have the device name “InBootLoader”. Now, perform the update/downgrade again on this user station. Once the update has completed, check that the user station now has the correct Application Version by clicking on that user station in the AMWorks software device tree. 2. Correction to Appendix F of the latest AMX Manual 590-222-501M. To see output at the User Station serial port for any of these commands the User Station Serial Emulation must be disabled. Use the OSD command ‘disable serial emulation’ to do that or the Serial checkbox on the OSD through the User Tab - Audio/Serial page. When you are finished remember to enable the serial emulation again using the command ‘enable serial emulation’ or at the Serial checkbox on the OSD User Tab – Audio/Serial page. 3. Correction to Appendix F of the latest AMX Manual 590-222-501M Appendix F - This command should be fc ‘[userstationname]‘ ‘[servername]’ - The manual did not include the space required between single quotes. 4. Correction to Appendix F of the latest AMX Manual 590-222-501M Appendix F - This command should be fd ‘[userstationname]’ - The manual did not include the single quote at the end of the command. =============================================================================== Important User Information =============================================================================== 1. If there are more than 128 users present on the AMX switch system, the admin user will not be able to administrate all users from the user station OSD. In this case, you will be required to administrate additional users from the AMWorks software. 2. If non-keyboard/mouse USB peripheral devices are connected to the AMX5130 user station, they will be ignored by the user station. However, they will take up a USB address and may interfere with the correct operation of the USB keyboard and mouse peripherals. Simply remove all USB devices, then reconnect the USB keyboard and mouse devices, in order for correct USB keyboard and mouse operation to be resumed. Examples of non-supported non-keyboard/mouse USB devices are: A. USB microphone B. USB thumb (memory) drive C. USB speakers 3. There is full support for a maximum of 3 USB devices. If you have a keyboard with an integrated hub, and the mouse connects through the hub on the keyboard, then that combination together will represent the maximum of 3 devices (i.e. 1=integrated hub; 2=keyboard; 3=mouse). 3/3
